Alfredo Cuzzocrea (Full Professor of Computer Engineering, University of Calabria, Rende, Italy) is the Founder and Director of the Big Data Engineering and Analytics Laboratory (iDEA Lab). He previously served as Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Paris City, France, holding the Excellence Chair in Big Data Management and Analytics; and as Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Lorraine, Nancy, France, holding the Excellence Chair in Big Data Privacy and Cybersecurity. He serves as Honorary Professor of Computer Engineering at Amity University, Noida, India, and as Research Associate at the National Research Council (CNR), Rome, Italy. He has been habilitated as Full Professor in Computer Engineering and Computer Science by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), and as Full Professor in Computer Science by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR). He has been awarded as International Senior Research Fellow of the ISITE-BFC Research Excellence Program (France, 2019) and ranked 1st Worldwide Scientist 2020 and 2021 for Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) by Microsoft Academic. He is consistently recognized as a Top 0.05% Worldwide Highly-Ranked Scholar by ScholarGPS and a Top 2% Worldwide Scientist (2017–2024) by Stanford METRICS. He is author or co-author of more than 860 papers in international journals (including IEEE TKDE, JCSS, Information Sciences, FGCS), conferences (including CIKM, EDBT, PAKDD, DOLAP), and books, and is involved in several national and international research projects, including Horizon 2020 EU programmes.
