Research field: Remote Sensing, Semantic Segmentation, Convolutional Neural Network, Feature Maps.
Jinchang's expertise lies in image processing, computer vision, big data analytics and machine learning. His research focuses on extracting patterns from image, video and sensor data and applying machine learning to derive useful information for smart decision-making. Applications of his research include non-intrusive testing in condition monitoring, smart manufacturing and asset management, quality grading and assessment in food and drink, pharmaceutical, forensics and the energy sector, big data driven precision agriculture and smart cities, geoscience and remote sensing, and medical imaging. Jinchang joined the NSC from the University of Strathclyde, he is now the Transparent Ocean Lead at the NSC and acts as Director of the NSC International Academy and Hyperspectral Imaging Lab. He supports the delivery of NSC objectives in enabling a digital and smart subsea, monitoring subsea energy installations and data validation of digital twins as well as environmental sensing.
Patrick Siarry
Professor, University of Paris-Est Créteil, France.
Research field: computer-aided design of electronic circuits, cognitive intelligence, and the applications of new stochastic global optimization heuristics to various engineering fields.
Professor Patrick Siarry received his PhD in computer science and optimization from the University of Paris VI in 1986 and his Habilitation (Doctor of Sciences) in computer science and optimization from the University of Paris XI in 1994. He previously worked at Électricité de France on the development of analog and digital models for nuclear power plants. Since 1995, he has served as a Professor of Automatics and Informatics at Université Paris-Est Créteil. With 32 years of dedicated academic research, he has achieved prolific scholarly outputs, including 80 international peer-reviewed journal articles, 16 national journal papers, 6 international books, 9 national books, 20 international book chapters, 7 national book chapters, and over 150 conference papers. He has also delivered 21 academic seminar reports and completed 18 internal research reports and 8 internal data center records. As a distinguished expert in the field of metaheuristic optimization, he currently holds an H-index of 65 on Google Scholar.
